RETIRED US Air Force brigadier general Robert Spalding is the featured voice on the Epoch Times’ documentary The Final War, detailing the Chinese Communist Party’s devious 100-year stealth war to defeat the United States.

“I am a father, like every day I want to see my kids grow and prosper and I’m afraid for their future,” he says in a dramatic opening statement. “I want to alert the world to China’s stealth war. It’s a terrifying message,” he adds further on.
Joshua Philllip, Epoch Times investigative reporter, says a CCP insider has told them that since the takeover of Mao Tse-Tung’s communists in 1949, the CCP has been plotting to ultimately defeat the United States and dominate the world.
Spalding confirmed this through his own research into the CCP, which he says as an entity is separate from the Chinese people and a grave threat to the United States.
The Epoch Times researchers sourced much of their information from Li Rui, Mao’s personal secretary in the 1950s who turned party critic, was jailed and died aged 101 in 2019. His meeting notes are held by the Hoover Institution in the US and his daughter Li Nanyang, a CCP whistleblower, helped transcribe them.
The notes reveal the cult-like, visionary drive of Maoist Marxism in the midst of a challenging war against the Chinese Nationalists: “Defeating the United States is a long-term process and a protracted war.”
Another statement from Lu Dingyi, the head of the CCP’s propaganda department, reads: “The day will come when all mankind will sing a song of triumph over the American Imperialists. That’s a fact-based, scientific prediction.”
The documentary quotes from a number of geopolitical experts from conservative think tanks and security consultancies such as Blackops Partners, a high-level cyber management consulting firm consisting of retired high-ranking officials from agencies like the CIA, FBI, and Secret Service.
Chairman and CEO Casey Fleming, says people need to understand that the agenda of the CCP is the long game. “They don’t care if it takes 50 or 100 years to turn the world communist, under their control.”
The Chinese “long game” was also documented by the Soviet Union in 10,000 pages of intelligence obtained by US spies in the 1960s. It was published in Michael Pillsbury’s 2015 book The Hundred-Year Marathon: China’s Secret Strategy to Replace America as the Global Superpower.
This was confirmed by the 1969 defection of high-ranking Soviet UN official Shevchenko who told Pillsbury the Soviet leadership hated and feared the Chinese and believed that China was planning to take control of the communist world and eventually assert global dominance by the 100th anniversary of the CCP coming to power in 2049.
Come the late 1970s after the brutal decade of the Cultural Revolution and the CCP became “friendly to the West” again with its “ping pong diplomacy”. Under President Nixon and Henry Kissinger the US again became allied with China against Russia.
Deng Xiaopong, who came to power in 1978 after being purged in the Cultural Revolution, played the America card to the hilt, making trips to the US, donning cowboy hats and charming President Billy Carter. It was all strategy to gain the technological wealth of America.
Then came the Tiananmen Square massacre on June 4th, 1989. Deng’s illusion was shattered and US-China relations went cold for a decade. That year also saw the collapse of the Soviet Union and and breaking down of the Berlin Wall
This disaster was followed by another CCP charm offensive, this time under Jiang Zemin, who travelled to the US and went on 60 Minutes to declare that the interview would promote mutual “friendship and understanding”.
The strategy worked again and China again scooped up technological and defence industry intelligence with the help of the Clintons. Then under Xi Jinping China’s industrial power soared to its dominant position today with international influence under its Belt and Road initiatives launched across Asia and Africa.
From the NBA and Hollywood to American businesses, the CCP has now transitioned to using its economic leverage to pressure US institutions and to influence public discourse. A recent strategy has been to encourage social media influencers to visit China and share their adventures or promote the latest technological gadgets and high-tech machinery produced by Chinese business.
Spalding may be overly pessimistic about China and its intentions, but he is better informed on the subject than most, as a former China strategist for the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Joint Staff at the Pentagon, as well as a senior defense official and defense attaché to China.
He earned his Doctorate in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Missouri and is fluent in Mandarin, and retired from the US Air Force as a brigadier general after more than 25 years of service.
The makers of this documentary, The Epoch Times, is owned by the Epoch Media Group, a nonprofit organization closely tied to the Falun Gong spiritual movement, that is strongly anti-CCP and was banned by the party in 1999.
The company founder John Tang stepped down from his executive roles and the the organization is now led by CEO Samuel Zhou. Epoch Media Group also operates New Tang Dynasty (NTD) Television.
